What being fire safe means

In any case, where there are hundreds of people living within a single block or building every person has a responsibility to the tenants around them. Being aware of your fire safety procedure, knowing where the fire exits are, and knowing what to do with fire safety equipment such as fire blankets and extinguishers. You must take time to understand what to do in the event of a fire. Not only will it ensure your safety, but that of your fellow housemates and neighbours.

Fire Procedures

Each of our sites has a specific fire procedure, which has been put in place to fit the building standards & keep you and all other tenants safe. The fire procedures can be separated into two categories:

  • Stay Put
  • Full Evacuation

You can find out which procedure your building has in place in your Welcome Pack, or by asking your property manager.

Fire Safety Equipment

During your stay with us, take time to familiarise yourself with the equipment within your apartment or in the communal areas of the building. Each apartment will have access to a fire safety blanket or a small extinguisher.

Fire Alarms

Should you discover a fire, sounding the fire alarm is your main priority. These can be found around the building and will look similar to the below image. Once you have sounded the alarm and gotten to safety, you should dial 999 and ask for FIRE BRIGADE. Give the operator your address and stay on the phone until they have repeated it back to you in full.

If you find a fire alarm damaged, please report this to your property manager, or concierge or log it on the Arthur App.

Fire Alarm Tests

We run regular fire alarm tests to check the systems are working correctly, the dates & times of these tests are postered on site, alternatively you can ask your property manager.
